At a glance
The best facial surgery is the kind no one can point to. The goal is not a different face, but your face looking rested, balanced, and like itself.
Upper face
Brow lift and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) open a heavy, tired upper face and refresh the eyes.
Midface and lower face
Facelift, with fat transfer when needed, lifts jowls and deep folds and restores lost volume.
Neck and jawline
A neck lift tightens loose skin and bands for a clean jawline, often paired with a facelift.
Nose and ears
Rhinoplasty refines the nose; otoplasty reshapes prominent or misshapen ears.
Non-surgical options
When surgery is not yet needed, injectables, skin treatments, and fat transfer can do a lot.
One surgeon, one plan
Dr. Sayed combines procedures thoughtfully so you address the whole face in one recovery.
Why Dr. Sayed
The face is unforgiving: small differences read as natural or operated. Dr. Sayed's approach is to lift and refine the underlying structure, close without tension, and recommend the least surgery that meets your goals.
Certified in plastic surgery and general surgery, trained at UCSF and Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital.

Procedures
You do not need to know which procedure you want before you come in. Part of the consultation is matching the right procedure, or combination, to your face.
Each area of the face has its own procedure. Here is a quick map of what addresses what.
Most facial plans combine two or three of these, planned around your safety and a single recovery. Dr. Sayed maps it out with you at the consultation.
Surgical or not
Surgery is the right tool once tissue has descended or structure needs changing: a heavy brow, a loose neck, or a nose that does not fit. Below that threshold, non-surgical treatments often do more with less.
Dr. Sayed offers both, so the recommendation is honest. If injectables, skin treatments, or fat transfer will meet your goal, he will say so before suggesting surgery.
The reverse is also true. Once skin and deeper tissue have truly loosened, no cream or device replaces a lift. Knowing where that line sits is the value of a surgeon's consultation.
What to expect
Every face is different, but the path from first visit to final result follows the same arc.
01
Dr. Sayed examines your face, listens to your goals, and maps which procedures fit, surgical, non-surgical, or a combination.
02
He plans incisions in hidden creases and the hairline, and sequences combined procedures around a single safe recovery.
03
Most facial procedures are outpatient under sedation or general anesthesia, lifting and refining the underlying structure rather than just the skin.
04
Skin is redraped and closed without tension, which is what keeps scars fine and results natural.
05
You go home the same day with a light dressing, and Dr. Sayed follows you closely through healing.
06
Swelling eases over weeks and the final, natural result shows over the following months.
All surgery carries risks: bruising, swelling, temporary numbness, bleeding, infection, and healing problems, which are higher in smokers. Each specific procedure carries its own risks, covered in detail at your consultation.
Most are uncommon and temporary, and Dr. Sayed explains how technique and aftercare lower each one.
If your concern is early or mild, he may recommend starting with non-surgical treatments and revisiting surgery later.
The goal is always the right procedure at the right time, not the most surgery.
Procedures
Explore each procedure, or start with a consultation and let Dr. Sayed recommend the combination that fits your face.
Facial plastic surgery spans the brow, eyes, nose, face, neck, and ears. These are the core procedures, each with its own page.
Lifts jowls, deep folds, and a sagging jawline by repositioning the deeper SMAS layer, with a neck lift for the neckline.
Often combined with fat transfer to restore lost volume.
The most-requested facial procedure.
Blepharoplasty refreshes hooded upper lids and under-eye bags; a brow lift raises a heavy brow.
Together they open and rest the upper face.
Frequently paired with a facelift.
Rhinoplasty refines the size, shape, or breathing of the nose; otoplasty reshapes prominent ears.
Each balances a single feature to the whole face.
Revision rhinoplasty is also offered.
Facelift and neck lift. Jowls, folds, and a loose neck.
Eyelid surgery and brow lift. Tired eyes and a heavy brow.
Rhinoplasty. The size, shape, or breathing of the nose.
Otoplasty and earlobe repair. Prominent ears and torn lobes.
Facial fat transfer. Restoring lost volume with your own fat.

Cost
Compare quotes on what is included: the surgeon, anesthesia, the facility, and follow-up. A low number that leaves these out is not really lower.
Costs vary widely by procedure. As a rough guide in Southern California, eyelid surgery often runs about $5,000 to $9,000, rhinoplasty about $10,000 to $18,000, and a facelift about $15,000 to $30,000 or more. Combined procedures are quoted together after an in-person exam.
Which procedure. A brow or eyelid lift costs less than a facelift or rhinoplasty.
Combining procedures. Addressing several areas together adds cost but saves on a second anesthesia and recovery.
Anesthesia and facility. Longer, combined surgery means more operating-room time.
Surgeon experience. A double board-certified facial surgeon is priced accordingly, and it shows in the result.
Financing. Monthly payment plans through third-party lenders spread the cost.
Recovery
Recovery depends on the procedure, but most facial surgery follows a similar arc: presentable in one to two weeks, back to full activity by about six weeks, with swelling settling over several months.
Surgery day
Outpatient, home the same day with a light dressing and manageable soreness.
First week
Bruising and swelling peak then ease. Keep your head elevated; sutures usually come out this week.
Weeks 2 to 3
Most people feel presentable and return to desk work, covering any bruising with makeup.
Weeks 4 to 6
Light activity resumes, then full exercise once Dr. Sayed clears you.
Months 2 to 6
The last swelling resolves and the final, settled result shows.
Sleeping. Head elevated for the first weeks to limit swelling.
Scars. Hidden in creases and the hairline, they fade over about a year.
Makeup. Usually fine to cover residual bruising by week two.
Exercise. Walking early, full workouts once cleared near six weeks.
Numbness. Normal after facial surgery and resolves over weeks to months.
Final result. Natural and settled over several months as swelling fully resolves.
Your surgeon
For Dr. Sayed, facial surgery done right means refining the structure, closing without tension, and keeping you looking like yourself, only rested.

Questions
The full range: facelift, neck lift, brow lift, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty, otoplasty, facial fat transfer, and earlobe repair, plus non-surgical options. Many patients combine two or three in one plan.
It depends on how much has changed. Early or mild concerns often respond to injectables, skin treatments, or fat transfer. Once tissue has descended or structure needs changing, surgery is the answer. Dr. Sayed offers both and recommends honestly.
Yes, and many patients do. Combining a facelift with eyelid surgery, a brow lift, or fat transfer addresses the whole face in one recovery. Combinations are planned around your safety and goals.
That is the priority. Dr. Sayed refines the underlying structure and closes the skin without tension, which keeps your expressions your own and avoids a pulled, operated look.
It varies by procedure, but most patients are presentable in one to two weeks and back to full activity by about six weeks, with swelling settling over several months.
Facial surgery incisions are placed in natural creases and the hairline, where they heal as fine, hidden lines and keep fading over about a year.
Healthy adults with realistic goals and a specific concern are usually candidates. Good general health and not smoking matter more than a specific age. Dr. Sayed confirms candidacy at your exam.
It depends on the procedure. As a rough Southern California guide, eyelid surgery runs about $5,000 to $9,000, rhinoplasty about $10,000 to $18,000, and a facelift about $15,000 to $30,000 or more. You get an exact quote after an exam.
You do not have to decide alone. Describe what bothers you, and Dr. Sayed maps it to the right procedure or combination. Often the fix is simpler than patients expect.
Most patients describe tightness and soreness rather than sharp pain, controlled with medication in the first days. Numbness is common and resolves over weeks.
Yes. Dr. Sayed sees patients unhappy with facial surgery done elsewhere and offers revision rhinoplasty and other corrections where appropriate.
It depends on the procedure. Rhinoplasty and otoplasty are essentially permanent; a facelift lasts roughly a decade. Sun protection and good skin care help every result hold.
Yes. Dr. Sayed performs facial surgery for men, tailored to a natural, masculine result. See the men's plastic surgery section for male-specific pages.
